Seyhan Dam is an earthfill dam constructed to preventing the 850,000 decare fields and Adana from floods that may be caused by Seyhan River. 

It was opened for service in April 8th of 1956. Construction completed in 974 days. Cost of construction is 25 million dollars. Body volume of the dam is 7,500,000 m³, elevation form the stream bed is 53.20 meters, lake volume is 120,000 hm³ under normal water elevation, and lake area is 67.82 km² under water elevation. By the help of the dam, 174,000 hectare field can be irrigated. Dam has three 18 MW units (one of them is is spare).

Hydroelectric Power Plant can produce 350 million KWh electricity annually with 54 MW capacity...
