Akköprü (White Bridge) is the oldest bridge of Ankara, located near the Varlık neighborhood, and on the Ankara Stream. Bridge was constructed in 1222 by the Seljuk Sultan Alaadin Keykubat the First while Kızılbey was the governor of Ankara. Although the structure of the bridge is intact, the facts that it is narrow for usage, and it is outside the course of the wider road used today, it lost its functionality.
